I'm looking for a versatile CPU that's around 65% for gaming and 35% for productivity tasks. I game on an ultrawide monitor with a resolution of 3440x1440p, and for my work, I use Adobe Premiere for video editing and CAD/CAM software. I'm planning to get a Micro Center bundle because the value is incredible, even if I'm not thrilled with the motherboard choices or RAM speeds; they're decent enough for my needs. Right now, I have a 13700KF on a DDR4 board and I want to upgrade. I already own a GPU (RTX 4090), NVMe drives, PSU, case, and AIO cooler, so I just need a new CPU, motherboard, and RAM.
Initially, I considered the Intel 265K, but then I realized it's outdated for gaming, especially when compared to the 14700K. Then I looked at the 9800X3D, but I'm concerned it might be too focused on gaming rather than being an all-around CPU. I could also consider the 9950X3D, but it's quite pricey. I'm hoping to find something that's slightly under the 9800X3D in gaming performance but better for productivity tasks.

Honestly, I don't see why you're upgrading from the 13700KF. It's already a strong CPU for both gaming and productivity. Are you just looking to spend more money?
If you're considering options, I'd recommend a non-X3D AM5 chip unless you really need that performance boost. The 7950X3D seems like a solid choice for someone who needs more cores for work while still gaming well, though it's pricier where I am. Just find any X3D chip that fits your budget and needs. If you're gaming at 60 FPS, a regular AM5 CPU could be a great way to go, plus it lets you invest in more cores!
For sure! You don't really need an X3D CPU for high FPS gaming. I have a Core i9-12900K and I game at 165 FPS, but from what I've seen, even a 7600X from AM5 can beat it in most games. Only titles that can utilize more cores will give the 12900K an edge.
