Hey everyone! I managed to grab a 9070 XT for $749 (before taxes) and here's my current build:
- GPU: Nitro + 9070XT
- Motherboard: MSI B650 Plus Wifi
- PSU: be quiet! 850W
- Cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE
- Case: Phanteks Pro Ultra
- RAM: Team T-Force Delta RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000 CL30
- Storage: Crucial P310 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD
This is my first time building a PC! I was considering the 9700X, but some friends suggested the 9600X might do the job while saving me around a hundred bucks. I want to play multiplayer games like Valorant and some 1440p titles at decent frame rates. Also, I plan to get a VR headset in the future, so I'm looking for a build that can last. My budget is about $1700-1750. Any CPU recommendations or overall build advice would be super helpful!

You'll be safe with just about any x3d processor. The 9600X is good but aiming for any x3d version will give your PC a great edge both now and down the line, especially for VR. Good luck with your build!
You should definitely look into the Ryzen 7 7800X3D! It's incredibly powerful and would complement your 9070 XT nicely. Just keep in mind that it might stretch your budget a bit, but it’ll be worth it for future-proofing your setup. If that's too pricey, the 7600X is a solid alternative too. Just watch out for those pricing fluctuations!
If you're keeping an eye on sales, the 9800X3D often goes on sale for about $400, which is great for what it offers! If not, the 7800X3D is still a fantastic pick. Just make sure your budget can handle it!
For real, that deal is hard to beat! I’d consider that if you have the chance, or go for the 7800 if not. Both will serve you well.
Honestly, I think the 9600X will be more than enough for what you need right now! It’s a good way to save some cash and you can always upgrade to something like the 9800X3D later if you want to boost performance. Just don’t go for older models like the 7500F or 8400F, stick with modern options!
Agreed! The 9600X provides solid performance for gaming right now, and you won’t be losing out on too much. Plus, upgrading later gives you a nice option when you're ready.
The 7800X3D is the way to go if you can swing it. If it doesn't fit your budget, try getting the 7500F or the 7600, but aim for the 7600X if there's only a small price difference. It’ll help you maximize your build’s performance.
True, the 7800X3D is a top choice, but if you’re looking to save, the 7600X still does a great job without the extra cost. It sounds like your build is solid already!
