I'm planning to upgrade my setup after scoring a sweet deal on an X870-A motherboard and 32GB of DDR5 RAM. Currently, I'm using a GTX 3070, which is showing its age but still holds its own. I'm looking to upgrade my CPU while considering options on my new AM5 motherboard. I've seen the Ryzen 5 7600X and 9600X, but I'm open to other suggestions. What do you guys recommend?

If you're looking for something on the higher end, I've decided to go with the 7500X3D because it has extra cache, which really helps in gaming. It's a little pricier, but I think it’s worth it for the performance boost, especially since I missed the AM4 versions earlier. The 7500F is also a great pick if you want to save some cash; it just depends on how much you're looking to squeeze out of your upgrade.
Both the 7600X and 9600X are good options for your setup, depending on what you prioritize. If it's gaming power you want, either one will do well. Just a matter of how much you want to spend.
The 7600X and 7500F are both solid choices, with the 7500F being a great budget option since it's basically a 7600 without integrated graphics. If you're looking for performance without breaking the bank, it’s usually around $150. The 7600X is overclocked and comes in at a higher price, plus it doesn't include a stock cooler. So, if you want the best value, I'd say go for the 7500F.
Was considering the 9600X too, but yeah, the price for the 7500F is pretty hard to beat.

Totally agree with you! The performance drop from 7600 to 7500F isn't huge, especially for gamers on a budget.
