Best CPUs to Pair with a 3060 Ti for Gaming

I'm currently using a 3060 Ti with an older i5-6400, and I'm noticing some pretty significant bottlenecking in performance. I'm considering an upgrade to improve my gaming experience, but I'm uncertain about which CPU would be a good match for both gaming and everyday tasks. Additionally, I'm on an ASUS H110I-PLUS motherboard, so I'm wondering if I would need to replace the motherboard to fit a decent CPU upgrade. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve got a solid recommendation for you! You can snag an AM4 5500 CPU and a compatible motherboard for just about $128. That setup should handle your GPU just fine and will be significantly faster than your current i5-6400. Plus, you can reuse your existing RAM. It’s literally the best option within your budget! But if you’re planning for the future, consider the 9600X with an AM5 motherboard, though that’ll mean getting new RAM and might push your total closer to $350.

I have the AM4 5500 combo. It’s decent but you might still face some bottlenecking with higher-end graphics cards like the 2060 Super. However, it’s still a huge upgrade from the i5-6400.

Thanks for the recommendation, sounds like a deal! I'm definitely going to check it out.

If you have a Microcenter nearby, they often have great bundles ranging from $250 to $350. Plus, keep an eye on r/buildapcsales; they feature solid deals regularly, especially around Prime Day. Just make sure to shop around and look for those sales!

I always feel a bit jealous whenever I hear about deals at Microcenter. I've never lived near one, and they seem to have the best prices!

Yeah, you can't beat that $128 combo deal though; it's just unbeatable for this situation!
