I'm planning to build a new PC and I've chosen the Ryzen 9 9950X3D as my CPU. I'm looking for recommendations on which motherboard and RAM to buy, as I know the RAM can depend a lot on the motherboard. This setup will mainly be used for gaming and rendering. I've had good experiences with ASUS and MSI motherboards in the past, so I'm leaning towards those, but I'd appreciate any advice!

The sweet spot for AM5 is DDR5-6000 CL30, so just grab the cheapest kit you can find. They'll all perform pretty similarly, no need to overspend on fancy brands unless you're going for something specific like a 128GB kit.
So is DDR5-8000 basically a waste for what I need?
