Hey everyone! I have a laptop that's running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with the following specs: Intel Core i5-3337U, 6GB of RAM, and a 480GB SSD. I'm curious about which kernels would be the best fit for my setup, especially considering I'll be using it for web development, AI applications, DevOps (using VMs and Docker), gaming, and I want to ensure it performs well without consuming too many resources. Any recommendations?

Honestly, it doesn't make much of a difference which kernel you choose. The resource consumption is mostly determined by your desktop environment. With your specs, you should be fine using GNOME, just keep multitasking in check!
What sort of system optimizations can help? I notice that running VMs/Docker really sucks up my RAM, and my system feels sluggish.
