I'm on the hunt for a laptop that has a DVD drive because I'm really frustrated with my Chromebook. I'm looking to store files directly on my computer rather than using Google Drive, and I want to use Firefox as my browser. I think a laptop with 16GB of RAM would be ideal, but I'm not sure what other features I should look for or which brands I can trust. Could someone please give me some recommendations and explain things simply?

Let’s figure out what you want from this laptop. Are you planning to play DVDs, install software, or something else? Knowing your main uses can help narrow down your options.
Honestly, you might want to consider getting a USB external CD/DVD drive instead. Most newer laptops don’t come with built-in optical drives anymore, so having one that connects via USB is a more practical solution.
Yeah, it’s getting tough to find laptops with optical drives these days. If you really need one, an external DVD drive would be the way to go. It’s usually a more convenient option and you can just plug it in when you need it.
Thanks for the tip! I guess an external drive sounds like the best solution.
I'm mainly looking to watch movies and maybe install some older software that I have on discs.
