Best Linux Distro for Academic Work with NVIDIA Graphics

I've just picked up a new laptop for my PhD work and plan to dual boot with Linux since I find it much better for my workflow, especially in theoretical and computational chemistry. It's a Lenovo ThinkPad with an Intel processor and an NVIDIA RTX Pro 1000 Blackwell 8 GB dedicated graphics card.

Currently, I'm using a budget Lenovo with an AMD 5000 series and integrated GPU, but I've never set up Linux with a dedicated GPU before, so I have some concerns about compatibility and functionality. My work mainly revolves around writing and benchmarking computational chemistry code, data processing, and visualization, with heavier computations sent to the university's HPC cluster. I'm hoping to write GPU-accelerated code eventually, so it's important for me to test it on my laptop first.

I've stuck with EndeavourOS for the past three years, although I have experience with Manjaro and Ubuntu. Although I like EndeavourOS, I'm hesitant about whether to choose a rolling release or a more stable distro, especially to avoid issues right before deadlines. I'm worried about using the NVIDIA graphics card and want to know which Linux distribution might be best for work.

Here are my potential candidates:
- Debian stable (but I've heard it has outdated packages)
- Ubuntu 24 LTS
- Fedora workstation
- Fedora Atomic or Universal Blue based on Fedora Atomic
- Stay with EndeavourOS or install pure Arch.

I've primarily used Gnome on Endeavour but plan to switch to KDE since I'll be using the laptop in a desktop setup with an external monitor and keyboard. Any advice or recommendations for the right distro would be greatly appreciated!

I'd suggest going with Ubuntu for ease of use. It offers various flavors, and I personally love Ubuntu Studio, which comes pre-loaded with a ton of audio, video, and photo editing software. The installation is smooth, and customizing your desktop is a breeze!

Will I have issues using the NVIDIA graphics card with Ubuntu?
