I'm looking to install a Linux operating system on my 2009 Acer Aspire 1410-8414 netbook. The goal is to use it primarily for streaming services on Firefox. I previously tried Lubuntu, but it was still quite slow. I'm hoping for something that resembles Windows in usability and is easy for someone not very familiar with Linux. Here are my system specs:
- Intel® Core™ 2 Solo at 1.4 GHz
- 2 GB DDR2 RAM
- 250 GB HDD
- Intel® GMA 4500MHD graphics
Any recommendations?

You might want to give MX Linux with XFCE a try. It runs pretty well on older hardware. My T7500 setup performs nicely with it, and it should work well for your needs too. Check out Distrowatch for more options if you're interested!
Look into Ultra Lightweight Distros made specifically for older CPUs like yours. They often run better on 32-bit systems, like what you have, especially if the HDD is slow. That can be a bottleneck for performance.
Starting with a lightweight distro sounds like a good plan! If you find it too slow, then you might need to reconsider your choices. Also, maybe upgrade RAM to 4GB if it's within your budget; that might help speed things up!
Debian or Q4OS could be decent options for you. Just manage your expectations with that kind of setup; it's not going to be lightning fast!

Upgrading to 4GB could make a big difference. It's worth a shot if you can find a compatible RAM stick!
