I'm considering switching to Linux for some minor programming in Godot and gaming on my laptop. I've done a bit of research but I'm unclear about which distro would be the most suitable. Since I'm entirely new to Linux, any advice on what I should look for would be appreciated. If you need more details like my laptop specs, just let me know. Thanks! By the way, I think I'm going for Linux Mint based on the feedback so far—hopefully, I won't mess anything up!

If gaming is a priority and you want something hassle-free, I'd suggest looking into Nobara, CachyOS, or Bazzite. I've been using Nobara (which is based on Fedora) and I'm really happy with it!
I'm on Fedora with KDE Plasma and haven't had any issues!
Fedora could be a solid choice! It's up to date, stable, and user-friendly. Just remember to install media codecs and Nvidia drivers after setup—it's simple but necessary.

I use Bazzite (also Fedora-based) and it's been great for me too!
