I have an older NVIDIA 720M graphics card that needs driver 390, and I'm looking for a user-friendly Linux distro since I previously used Endeavour but I don't have the time to manage Arch. I'm looking for something simple enough that my dad could handle, preferably with a KDE environment. I'm a bit lost on which distro to try next. Should I just go back to an older version of Kubuntu, or are there better options out there?

If you want to stick with an older proprietary NVIDIA driver, you'll need to use a distro that's compatible with an older kernel. Ubuntu 22.04 with the nvidia-legacy PPA might work, but remember that using older versions like Kubuntu won't give you security updates for KDE. Just something to keep in mind!
Have you thought about giving Debian a shot? It's known for having good support for older hardware, and it might work well with your setup.
Honestly, I think MX Linux could be a solid choice, as it aims to be user-friendly and could support your NVIDIA card better than some others. But keep in mind it might still have issues with older drivers. Just a heads up!
I actually tried MX Linux and ran into problems with the NVIDIA drivers, so I’m not sure it’s the solution.
