Hey everyone! I have an old HP Pavilion 23 that currently runs Windows 10, but it's super laggy. I'm looking to revive it with a Linux distro and I have an 8GB flash drive for installation. What would you recommend? Any specific distros that would work well for older hardware?

Basically, any distro can work but Mint is pretty straightforward and has helped many people revitalize their old machines. Just remember, if your HP is handling Windows 10 (even if it's lagging), it should handle a lightweight Linux distro just fine!
Check out the distro selection page on the wiki for some great options! If you're looking for something beginner-friendly, both Fedora and Mint are solid choices. But if the RAM is low, you should look at the Xfce versions, which are lighter on resources.
You might want to try Linux Mint. It's user-friendly and works well on older machines. Just curious, do you know how much RAM the HP has? That can make a big difference.
Could you check how much RAM is on your machine? That info could help us give you better suggestions!
