Hey everyone! I'm building my first high-end gaming PC and I'm facing a bit of a dilemma when it comes to choosing a motherboard. I have some specific preferences: I want Wi-Fi capability, plenty of USB ports, and overall top-notch technology. Right now, I'm considering a few options: the Gigabyte X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7, MSI MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI, Gigabyte X870E AORUS PRO, or the Gigabyte X870E AORUS MASTER. The prices vary quite a bit, and I'm curious if spending over €500 on a motherboard really gives me significant advantages compared to a cheaper option. Here's my build so far: (inserted PC Part Picker list here) Any advice would be super helpful!

From what I see, the difference in performance between a €160 motherboard and a €500 one isn’t that dramatic. You might get a few extra NVMe slots, but overall, the expensive options aren’t necessarily worth it for most users.
It sounds like the main features that higher-end motherboards offer are extra functionalities. In your case, if you’re unsure of what you need, just pick the one that looks the best to you. But I gotta ask, are you totally sure you want to invest this much? I’ve seen people spend a ton on high-end gear only to realize it’s not what they wanted.
Honestly, if you're spending over €6k on your setup, I think you might want to consider upgrading to a 5090 GPU instead of settling for a 5080. Any cheaper motherboard combined with a 5090 would outperform the high-end motherboard with a 5080 in the long run.
