I'm currently using a Ryzen 7 5800X with an AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT 12GB and my motherboard is an ASRock AB350M Pro4 R2.0. Recently, I learned about VRM performance and am curious about my setup. I chose not to upgrade to an AM5 motherboard due to costs since the 5800X meets my needs for coding and some gaming. I'm gaming at 1080p now but plan to upgrade to 1440p later. My concerns are: 1) Is my current motherboard good enough? 2) Could it potentially harm my components? 3) If it's not sufficient, how much performance could I be missing out on? I suspect that my CPU might be slightly bottlenecking the GPU.

When you switch to 1440p, your CPU will likely become less of a bottleneck for your GPU. The GPU has more to handle at that resolution, which means it won't rely on the CPU as much. Honestly, it seems like you're fine sticking with your current setup without an upgrade for now!
Your motherboard is rated for up to 100 amps without additional cooling, which should be fine for the 5800X. I recommend trying PBO Tuner 2 and setting it to -30 on all cores; this can lower the load on your VRMs and help with temperatures. You can check out a tier list for more info!

Thanks for the list, it's super helpful! I’ll definitely give PBO Tuner 2 a shot. I ran a power test for an hour and my CPU stayed below 84 degrees under full load, idling at 40-55, so it sounds okay for now.
