I'm planning to upgrade my PC with an i7 7700k to improve performance in CPU-intensive games. Currently, I have a GTX 1080 and an i7 4770k, but my budget for the motherboard is around 170 Canadian Dollars (120 USD). I already have the i7 7700k and the RAM, so I'm looking for recommendations on good motherboards. Also, I'm comfortable with buying used items if that's an option.

Just to clarify, make sure you're not mixing up the i7 4770k and i7 7700k. They're different CPUs that use different sockets and memory types, so double-check your setup before purchasing a motherboard!

You should definitely look for a Z270 motherboard to support overclocking for better performance. Keep in mind that these motherboards can fail over time, and since the i7 7700k is quite old, options might be limited. If you can get a Z170 board, that's okay too, but aim for Z270 if you want more capability.

I found a Z170 for 80 Canadian dollars, and it's brand new in the box with a great seller rating. Do you think it's worth it?
