I'm planning to build a gaming PC on a tight budget of $500. I'm looking for recommendations on parts to use, as well as links to those parts if possible. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I recommend a standard budget build with a Ryzen 5 5600, an ASUS Prime B550 motherboard, and two sticks of DDR4 RAM at around 3600MHz. You'll also want a 550W non-modular power supply and a Gen4 NVMe SSD. A cheap case and a cooler like the Thermalright Assassin will complete it. This setup performs really well for the price!
I appreciate the advice! Could you send a link to that build?
I agree, there's not much room for a solid gaming GPU within $500. You can build the rest of the PC for that budget if you shop around, but just keep it simple for now. Adding a GPU later or going for a used one might be the best way to start.
I suggest going for an R5 5500 with an RTX 2070. Check this link for a complete build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/z8vMHW. Just keep in mind that you'll likely need to find the GPU on the used market.
With a $500 budget, you're really limited on what you can get. Honestly, you might get better performance with a console instead. If you can, try to save up at least $1000 before starting a decent build.

Thanks for the tips!
