I'm looking to build a new PC from the ground up to better support my work and gaming needs. Right now, I'm using a Dell XPS 8930 (with an i9-9900K, RTX 5060 8GB, 64GB DDR4), but it's starting to lag behind for what I need. I mainly use this system for software development that involves Docker and WSL2, which can be quite demanding on resources. I also need to drive four monitors: a 5K2K ultrawide Dell U4025QW, two ASUS VS247 (1080p), and a 42" plasma TV, plus I game occasionally but struggle with titles like Expedition 33 at decent settings. The PC is always on, and I want something with no proprietary parts for future upgrades. My requirements include powerful GPU performance to handle all four monitors and newer games at high settings, 64GB or more RAM, and good cooling. The budget isn't an issue; I simply want a durable setup that will last me a while. Any suggestions for a parts list would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to check out this build: [link to parts list]. It includes an AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D and an ASUS X870 motherboard, but you'd need to swap the RAM for 64GB to meet your needs. It should give you a solid performance for both development and gaming! Also, consider looking for a powerful GPU to handle the 4-monitor setup. If you have an older 32GB RAM kit, selling it could help finance the upgrade.

Thanks a lot! I haven't put together a PC since the late 90s, so I'm a bit lost on the latest components. Could you recommend a suitable GPU, PSU, and cooler to go with it?
