Hey everyone! I'm gearing up to build my first computer by the end of this week, but I'm stuck when it comes to choosing a power supply. Here's what I have in mind for my components:
- AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
- Gigabyte Radeon RX 7800 XT Gaming OC 16GB
- Asus TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WI FI II AM4 4DDR4 HDMI/DP M.2 ATX
- I'm considering a be quiet! 601 or 802 computer case, but I'm still undecided.
I found a Gigabyte UD750GM PG5 750 Watt 80+ Gold power supply for about $88.11 and I'm wondering if I should go for that to save some cash. Alternatively, there's the be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 750W ATX 3.0 available for around $125.49. What do you think? Should I stick to the lower price or invest a bit more? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you’re looking for a solid choice, I’d recommend looking at the Vetroo 850W as an option. It’s reliable and should handle your setup quite well.
Make sure to add up the total wattage on [pcpartpicker.com](http://pcpartpicker.com) to see what you’ll need. Aim for a power supply that’s at least 10% higher than your total wattage, and going for 25% above is even better! A good power supply is worth its weight and can be used in future builds, so consider the investment.
I'd be cautious with Gigabyte PSUs. The UD-GM series has improved, but it's still not the best out there. Check out these alternatives instead:
- Cooler Master MWE GOLD 750 V2 - $91
- ADATA XPG Core Reactor II 750 - $95
- Cooler Master MWE GOLD 850 V2 - $100
- Corsair RM750x SHIFT - $100
- NZXT C850 (2022) - $110
The 750W Gigabyte is decent enough for your setup, and you don’t have to spend extra if you don’t want to! The be quiet! option is pricier likely due to tariffs, but good alternatives include Corsair RM series and MSI MAG GL series. Also, look into the pricing of your GPU—since it's reached end of life, its price skyrocketed, and you might get better performance with newer models like the RX 5070 or RX 9070 at a similar price point.
Thank you!
Thank you, I will check it!
