Best Thermal Paste or Pad for a New PC Build?

Hey everyone! I'm building a new system featuring a 9800x3d CPU and I'm trying to figure out what type of thermal paste or pad I should use. I know high-end thermal pastes typically perform similarly, so it's really about longevity for me since I won't be delidding the CPU. I'm considering a kryosheet because I've heard they last long and need minimal upkeep. However, I'm open to thermal pastes as well, though I might forget to replace them when needed. Can anyone share their recommendations for pads or pastes that are available in the UK? Also, any experiences with longevity would be great!

I've been using these Innovation Cooling Graphite Thermal Pads. They work great, and I reuse them all the time without any issues. I've mounted them several times on different CPUs, and they perform just as well as high-end thermal paste without any rips or tears!

Interesting! How fragile do you find those pads? I know graphite can be a bit delicate but haven’t used this type before.

Honestly, the thermal paste that comes with your CPU cooler should be fine. You really don't have to worry about replacing it until you start noticing any strange temperature spikes. My AIO cooler from 2021 is still running strong, and I haven't had to repaste it yet!

Wow, that's impressive! I used Arctic Cooling MX2 on my i7 4790k back in 2017, and it’s still going strong today. I’ve never had to repaste and temps are under 60°C at full load, though I did undervolt it.

If the thermal paste that comes with the AIO isn’t cutting it for me, I usually go for Noctua thermal paste. It's reliable and does the job efficiently.
