I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU paired with 24GB of DDR4 RAM and a GTX 970 GPU. I'm looking for upgrade suggestions that won't break the bank. My B450 gaming motherboard is still compatible, so I would love to know if I should stick with Nvidia for the GPU or consider other options. Any advice would be really appreciated!

How much do you plan to spend, and where are you looking to buy the parts? It seems like both your CPU and GPU might need an upgrade. What motherboard do you have again?
You can upgrade your BIOS on the B450 board with your current Ryzen 5 1600, and then you can potentially switch to a Ryzen 5000 series CPU—just make sure to do the update with the old CPU still in place. For a budget-friendly choice, I'd suggest looking for a used Ryzen 5 5600 or 5600X, but avoid the 5600G since it’s slower. As for the GPU, I can’t say for sure which one would fit your budget, but hopefully, someone else can help with that!
If you're working with a total budget of about $300, you could consider grabbing an RTX 3070 along with a Ryzen 7 3700X, which would give you a nice performance boost without costing too much. Just keep an eye on the prices on eBay!
Before you decide, what's your main goal with the upgrade? Better gaming performance, streaming, or something else?

I'm thinking around $200 max for a GPU and about $100 for a used CPU.
