Hey everyone! I'm part of a small team within a larger company, and we've been tasked with finding a way to enable SMS and MMS communication using our existing Microsoft Teams phone numbers. We need a solution that allows us, a team of 8 people, to send texts (including photos) to individual clients without the option for mass texting. The IT department mentioned that we need to find our own system since we're the only team needing this functionality. I've noticed that most online solutions seem geared toward marketing texts or require full porting of phone numbers, which we're looking to avoid, as we still want to receive calls through Teams. Any recommendations would be super helpful! Thanks in advance!

At my last job, we had Teams phones capable of texting through a vendor called Call Tower, which worked with Yak Chat for texting. There was an extra fee for the select numbers, but it integrated smoothly with Teams. Just a heads-up—the texting was limited to US and North American numbers only.
You might want to look at Zadarma. It's pretty affordable and integrates well with Teams.
3CX is excellent for handling SMS and MMS. I personally use Telnyx as my VoIP provider, and their hosted SMS option lets you only port the SMS functionality of your number, which is super handy!
You might want to check out Twilio; they have options that could fit your needs for SMS and MMS.
I don't think you can text directly through Teams, but we use Sinch for messaging. It has a user-friendly online portal, and you can also send texts via email. They have APIs too, but keep in mind that many services focus on marketing messages. An alternative could be giving your staff mobile numbers, but that gets messy for tracking communications.
Honestly, every SMS/MMS provider seems to treat customers like they're solely interested in marketing. Be prepared for a lengthy and complex TCR setup process; it's a real hassle!
