Best Ways to Find a Reliable M.2 NVMe Extension Cable

I have a DGX spark with a 2242 NVMe slot, which is smaller than the usual NVMe size. Finding a 4TB NVMe drive in that size is really tough, so I'm considering getting an extension cable instead. I've been looking on Amazon, but most options have no reviews, and I'm worried that if I pick one at random, I could end up damaging my $3000 AI workstation along with the $400 NVMe drive I just bought. Are these PCIe extension cables usually reliable? Is there a suggested vendor where I can trust the quality? I'm okay with spending around $100 if I'm certain it'll be reliable. I'm looking specifically at the "RIITOP M.2 NVMe Extension Cable" which supports various sizes including 2280/2260/2242/2230 and works with PCIe 4.0. Thanks for your help!

Honestly, I don’t think there’s an extension cable out there that you can rely on 100%. A better option might be to find a 2242 drive or use a PCIe-NVMe expansion card for your 4TB needs. Those cards tend to be much more reliable and offer good performance without the risk of frying anything.

Could you recommend a specific PCIe-NVMe expansion card? That would be super helpful!
