BIOS Glitch Made My Battery Capacity Drop, What Should I Do?

I recently cleaned the vents on my HP Victus 15-fb0xxx laptop since it needed some basic air cleaning and didn't open it up or anything. After that, I rebooted my laptop and received a BIOS warning saying **battery capacity reduced**. Looking at the battery report, I found the following:

- **Design Capacity: 16,216 mWh**
- **Full Charge Capacity: 16,216 mWh**
- The battery only has **120 cycles** so it should be fine.
- Just last week, my full charge was around **59,000 mWh**.

Now the HP Battery Check tool, which showed **Normal** yesterday, reports it as **Very Weak**. I'm really confused about this change after just cleaning my laptop!

It sounds like your battery might actually be faulty. If you've only had 120 cycles, that's a bit early for it to weaken like this. I’d recommend contacting HP support to see if they can send you a replacement battery.

I did a diagnostic test last night and my battery health was normal. But now it's showing very weak. The only thing that changed was a BIOS update I ran through the HP Assistant app, and now my laptop won’t even turn on without being plugged in!
