I recently bought a new power supply (Lian Li Edge Gold 750W) and it just won't power on. I've only had it for a few hours. I tried the paper clip test to check if it's working, but all I get is a strange clicking noise when I attempt to turn it on or off, and the fan only spins for about half a second before stopping. This is the second power supply I've tried that has failed to respond, so I'm starting to wonder if the issue is elsewhere in my setup. Any thoughts on what might be happening?

It's actually not uncommon for power supplies to have zero-RPM fans that only start spinning when needed. If the fan stopped right away, that could be perfectly normal behavior. It might not be the PSU itself that's the issue. Double-check everything else in your setup.
Just to clarify, you did install this new PSU using the wires that came with it, right? It sounds like the issue might be that the power supply isn’t turning on when it's connected to the motherboard. That’s a key detail!
Yes, I used the wires that came with the new PSU. The problem is definitely that it's not powering up with the motherboard connected.
