Broke My PCIe Latch While Removing My GPU – What Now?

Hey everyone! I was working on my Fujitsu ESPRIMO E520 E85+ and accidentally broke the plastic latch on my PCIe slot while trying to remove the GPU 😢. Here's a picture of the latch before it broke [before](https://imageupload.app/i/8d4da4b1499c4c44b9e3) and another view of a similar latch on a different motherboard: [here](https://imageupload.app/i/9a051e537a8fb034bab6). The hinge just snapped off when I pulled it to the side to get the GPU out.

I'm wondering:
1. Is it safe to pull the GPU out without damaging it or the motherboard now that the latch is broken?
2. What's the best way to remove the GPU safely with the latch gone?
3. Any suggestions for keeping the GPU secure after this mishap?

Currently, the GPU is still firmly fixed and secured in the PCI slot. Just want to make sure I don't do any more damage when trying to take it out or put it back in. Thank you!!!

You should be okay! As long as your GPU is screwed in tightly, it should work without any problems. Just take your time when you try to pull it out.

Yeah, I’m trying to replace my current GPU, so I just want to make sure everything's safe to remove.
