Hey everyone! I'm looking for some recommendations on how to upgrade my old PC on a tight budget. Here are my current specs:
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 at 3.17 GHz
- RAM: 4 GB
- Storage: 250 GB
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Honestly, that PC is pretty outdated for upgrades. What do you plan to do with it? If it's just for web browsing, maybe consider a mini PC instead. They can be super affordable and you won't have to worry about upgrading that old hardware.

Upgrading to a quad-core CPU won’t really help much since older games don’t utilize more than two cores. If you’re aiming for budget-friendly options, you might look for an early Ryzen system with a B350 motherboard and 8-16 GB of DDR4 RAM. You can often find those for around $100-120 used.

It really depends on your goals. That computer is over 15 years old, which limits what you can accomplish with it. If you're just looking for daily use, a new or even second-hand machine might be a better option.

I think you'd be better off just getting a whole new PC. The current setup can't really keep up with modern needs. If you want something affordable, mini PCs could work well, just like someone suggested.
