Hey everyone! I'm diving into the world of PC building and I want to create a setup for playing Fortnite competitively at 1080p. This game is notorious for being CPU-intensive, so I'm curious about my GPU choice. I have a GTX 1660 from my brother lying around and I'm wondering if it would bottleneck a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Should I maybe consider using a Ryzen 5 7600 paired with something like a used 3060 Ti or 3070 instead? I've looked around but can't find much info or benchmarks on this specific setup since it seems a bit unconventional for other games.

For Fortnite specifically, someone with a similar setup was able to hit around 400-500 fps! So that should give you a solid idea of performance potential with your Ryzen 7 and GTX 1660, even though the GTX is a bit dated.
The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is one of the best gaming CPUs available, second only to the 9800X3D. A GTX 1660, being an older entry-level GPU from 2019, really won't hold back that CPU significantly. You'll be fine for Fortnite.
While the GTX 1660 won't completely bottleneck it, for some games the 7950X3D is just slightly better than the 7800, so it's a bit of a mixed bag.
Thanks for the input! But I was just wondering if the GTX 1660 might still limit the 7800X3D in any way.
