I'm dealing with a frustrating issue on my laptop where I keep getting pop-up ads that I can't close, which forces me to restart the device. I'm pretty sure I have a virus. My question is, can these types of viruses actually cause network disconnects as well?

Yeah, malware can definitely cause disconnections! Those pop-ups might be a sign that something is wrong. It might be a good idea to run a malware scan to clean your system. Just be careful not to click on anything suspicious while you’re trying to fix it.

You should take a screenshot of the ads and share it here. Often, these pop-ups come from clicking ‘Allow Notifications’ on sketchy sites. Just be cautious!

I didn’t even go to any websites on this laptop; I only use it for gaming and SWTOR. It’s weird how the pops appeared out of nowhere.
