I'm curious about whether the i5 14600K can support RAM speeds of 6000MT/s because its specs only indicate official support up to 5600MT/s DDR5. I'm considering using a solid motherboard like the Asus TUF Z790. Do I need to overclock to achieve this?

If you’re only using two RAM sticks, it will most likely run DDR5-6000 just fine!
You can enable XMP, which is a way to overclock your RAM. Official support isn't the end of the road; XMP is just like switching to sport mode in a car—essentially designed for it. Give it a shot!
There's a good chance your setup can handle 6000MT/s, especially with a decent motherboard. But to be honest, 5600MT/s is already pretty fast, and for most gaming, especially at 1440p, it'll probably be your GPU that's the limiting factor. If you haven't bought the CPU or motherboard yet, consider the AM5 9600X; it's usually a solid option at a comparable price and definitely supports 6000MT/s.
Yeah, I’ve seen the AMD options too. But there’s a great deal on Newegg right now, and I already got a good deal on the mobo.
I recommend enabling XMP from your motherboard's BIOS. It makes things simpler!
Every CPU has a JEDEC speed (the official RAM speed), which for the i5 14600K is 5600MT/s—this is what they guarantee. However, you can push it higher with overclocking. Just turn on XMP, and you should have no problem hitting 6000MT/s. Many are running XMP overclocks and don’t even realize that’s an overclock!
Haha true, thanks for the info!
Thank youu.
