Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out if the Apple TV+ app on my Android TV actually supports 4K streaming. I have a HiSense 50Q8G smart TV that's capable of 4K (running Android 9), but I've noticed that it's only playing content in 1080p, even for movies and shows listed as 4K. I swear I was getting 4K streaming from Apple TV+ not too long ago. I've already tried all the usual fixes: I restarted and reinstalled the app, rebooted my TV and router, and checked my internet speed which is 1GB. Plus, I can stream in 4K with other services like Disney+, Prime Video, and Netflix on the same TV, so I don't think it's an issue with the TV or my internet service. Just wondering if I might be missing something or if there's a limitation with the app on my older version of Android. Anyone have insights on this?

Your internet setup and TV seem fine for 4K, so it might be an issue with the app itself. I’ve also heard that sometimes streaming apps don’t play nice with older systems. Maybe try checking for any updates specifically for the Apple TV+ app. If you can, consider reaching out to their support too; they might have specific advice for older Android versions.
Yeah, the Apple TV+ app does support 4K. It should work on your TV as long as everything else is set correctly. Just a heads-up though, some exclusive shows might only stream in 4K on Apple devices, but most content should be available in 4K on compatible Android TVs too.
