Can Apps from the Play Store Contain Crypto-Malware?

I recently downloaded a game called Car Jam Solver: Trafic Jam from the Play Store, and after playing it for about 20 minutes, my phone (a Samsung S25 Ultra) became extremely hot. I've played much more intensive games like Genshin and Zenless Zone Zero without any overheating issues. Since I downloaded this app to help me relax, the heating issue is pretty concerning. Is there a chance this app might be responsible for something malicious, like crypto-mining? I ran a scan with Malwarebytes, and it said everything is fine.

It sounds like it's definitely a possibility. If the game isn't very graphically demanding, it shouldn’t be causing that much heat. Maybe look for a different puzzle game that won't overheat your phone.

I get that, but I'm also worried about what if it actually did crypto-mine my phone and it keeps doing so even after I uninstall it.
