I signed up for ChatGPT's free offer for students back in April, and I used my real name and my school's name. Now I'm a bit worried that they might leak our conversations to professors. Is this something that could actually happen? I'm aware that platforms like Chegg have shared students' information, so I'm wondering if ChatGPT does the same thing.

Not at all! ChatGPT isn't out there sharing conversations like that. They'd really have nothing to gain and an awful lot to lose if they started leaking student info. Trust me, that's not happening.
I wouldn't stress over it. They're not interested in throwing their users under the bus. ChatGPT has a lot to lose if it betrays students' trust, so I think your conversations are safe.
Just a heads up: it's probably not great to lean too much on AI for your assignments. I get that things can get overwhelming, but try to use it as a study aid instead of a crutch.
I see your point, but I find it helps me organize my thoughts. Also, with services like Chegg leaking info, I just want to be careful and make sure I'm covered.
