I'm a bit confused about how Custom GPTs interact with regular ChatGPT. I initially thought they couldn't share information, but after a lengthy conversation with a Custom GPT, I noticed that when I went back to regular ChatGPT, it was mimicking the same voice and personality as the Custom GPT. I even received a pop-up asking me if I liked the personality. I had set some custom instructions to try and make it act more like the Custom GPT, but initially, I didn't think it worked well. However, after more conversations with the Custom GPT, regular ChatGPT seemed to completely copy its personality. I asked ChatGPT about this, and it said it couldn't cross-reference conversations, but it really feels like it did. Can anyone explain what's going on here?

Yeah, I've had a similar experience! When I used a Custom GPT, it quickly referenced things from my chat history. So, it seems like they might share some interaction history, at least in a roundabout way.
Don’t take this as the final word, but here's some insight: When you chat with a GPT, it's treated like any other conversation. So while Custom GPTs might not directly remember things, if your Reference Chat History is enabled, ChatGPT can still pull up previous chats and respond based on that. It’s a bit complex, but it’s likely that the interactions you had with the Custom GPT influenced ChatGPT's responses once you switched back. Just keep in mind, data can potentially be shared with APIs if you’re using advanced features in Custom GPTs!
Oh wow, I didn’t realize it worked that way! Thanks for clarifying! So it can learn from Custom GPTs but not access the actual chat logs? Also, thanks for the heads up about data leakage — I’ll be more careful!
