Hey everyone! I'm curious if there's a way to configure DeepSeek for real-time updates, like getting the latest news or asking what day it is. For instance, when I asked it what day it was on June 4, 2025, it told me June 5, 2024. Does this mean the developers haven't updated it lately, or is there something I'm missing? Thanks for any insights!

If you're running DeepSeek on your own server, you can integrate custom search tools. That way, you could potentially get real-time data processing much more effectively!
Interesting day to ask! Just a heads-up, June 4 is a sensitive date for the Chinese government, and sometimes AI models avoid responding to questions about it to sidestep sensitive topics. If you ask about historical events on that date, it might just skip or redirect your question.
I posted earlier about a framework for DeepSeek that might help. It’s designed for various LLMs, including Claude. If you give it a try, it could enable web research and maybe help with real-time data.
You can activate the web search feature in DeepSeek. Just ask, "What day is it today?" and it should respond with the correct date! I got a response saying it's **Wednesday, June 4, 2025**. 😊
I tried that too, and it works better on my phone! On my PC, I kept getting a 'server busy' error. But it seems like exactly what you need. Good luck with it!
