Can Docker Replace Chrome OS Desk Templates on Windows?

Hey everyone! I'm curious about using Docker as a substitute for desk templates that I really loved on Chrome OS. I recently switched back to Windows after some time on Chrome OS, and I miss the ability to save virtual desktop layouts with all my apps set up just how I like them. I used these templates a lot in my work as a language trainer, keeping everything organized for different tasks. I've tried some alternatives like Workspaces in PowerToys, but they haven't worked out as well for me, plus Rambox only handles PWAs and websites. So, I'm wondering if Docker could be a solution for this, especially since I've heard it's free for personal use? Thanks for any insights!

Probably not the best solution. While there are definitely alternatives out there, Docker isn't designed for your use case. It’s primarily a tool for developers to run applications in isolated containers. For desktop setups, you may want to explore something like Dexpot or Workona instead!

Got it! Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely check out those options.

I don't think Docker is the best fit for what you're looking for. If your system can handle it, you might want to check out virtualization options instead. VirtualBox is a solid choice that could allow you to create multiple virtual machines, giving you the flexibility you need. It might be a bit much depending on your use, though!
