I'm currently covered by AppleCare for my iPhone and I'm thinking about upgrading my plan to add my broken iPad, which has a cracked screen, so I can get it repaired. Is that possible? What are the risks involved?

It’s a bit of a risky move to upgrade and then immediately add a device that needs repair. Apple might pick up on that and see it as an attempt at fraud. It might be better to just consider a straightforward repair instead.

If your iPad already had AppleCare+, the cost for screen repairs would be the same as if you had just the standard coverage. If you only have AppleCare+ on your iPhone, just be cautious with the upgrade. You might face issues.
