Can I Boot Linux from a PCIe M.2 NVMe Drive Adapter?

Hey everyone! I have a setup where one M.2 slot is currently my Windows boot drive, and the other is used for game storage. I'm considering getting a PCIe card that allows for a third M.2 drive. If I install Linux on that new drive, can I boot from it? Not sure if that makes a difference, but it's something I'm curious about.

Yes, you can boot from an NVMe drive on a PCIe card as long as your system supports it. Some M.2 slots might only support SATA drives instead of NVMe, so just double-check your motherboard specs. If it does work, you can run Linux off that new drive!

Got it! So even if my existing slots are NVMe, it’s good to confirm compatibility. I'll look into my motherboard specs before I buy anything.
