I've got an @outlook.com and an @hotmail.com account and was hoping to merge them into a single account. I initially wanted my Hotmail address to become an Outlook account, but now I find I have two different accounts instead. How can I resolve this issue to manage both addresses from one account?

You can add your @hotmail.com as an alias to your @outlook.com account. This will let you send and receive emails from both addresses in one inbox. However, if your Hotmail account is already associated with another Microsoft account, you would need to close it first to use this method. Here’s how you can set it up if the Hotmail account isn't linked elsewhere: 1) Sign in to your Outlook account, go to settings, and find the aliases option. 2) Add your @hotmail.com email. You can direct emails from there to either your main inbox or a separate folder. 3) Just make sure to verify your ownership of the Hotmail address when prompted.
Thanks for the info! But, I still want to keep my Hotmail account. I changed the primary address in the Outlook settings, but now when I try to add the @outlook.com as an alias to my Hotmail, it says that email is in use. Any ideas on how to fix this limbo situation?
