Can I connect to WiFi by adding an antenna to my PC?

I just had a new PC built, but I'm having trouble connecting to WiFi. I've checked everything, and it seems fine, but the builder suggested that all I need to do is connect a WiFi 7 antenna to the back of the motherboard. Can anyone tell me if this is true and if adding the antenna will actually allow me to connect to WiFi, or is he just trying to avoid helping me?

From what you’ve described, it looks like you don’t have the necessary hardware for WiFi right now. There should usually be some network options visible, even if the connection is weak. But without the antenna, you're kind of stuck. I’d say definitely hook up that WiFi 7 antenna and see if that resolves your issue!

Exactly! I’ve seen people try to do WiFi without any antenna, and it never works out well. Set that up and you should be good to go!

Hey! It sounds like you might need a bit more detail about your situation. Do you have an antenna connected right now? Without one, it’s likely you won't see any WiFi options at all. Sometimes, PCs can detect nearby networks even without an antenna, but the signal will be weak. If you're not seeing any WiFi options in your network settings, it really is a good idea to try connecting that antenna first. Let us know if you get it!

Yeah, I agree with CuriousCoder. If you don’t have an antenna at all, you’re probably not going to get any WiFi options. Connecting the antenna should help, so fingers crossed!
