So, my brother's iPhone 13 Pro needs a new battery, but the back glass is shattered. I'm wondering if Apple will just replace the battery without fixing the glass too. Anyone have experience with this?

I think you're better off with a third-party repair shop for just the battery. Apple usually prefers to do a full repair if they see any damage, so they might push to replace both the battery and the glass instead. Not sure they'd just do the battery on this one.
Yeah, I agree with CuriousCat77. Apple tends to want to fix everything at once, especially if they see the glass is broken. If you want just the battery done, check local repair shops; they might be more flexible.
