Can I hook up an old TV to my computer for my project?

I've recently picked up an older TV from around the year 2000 for a short film that takes place in that era. The TV only seems to have a connection for cable television. I'm considering using a cable TV to HDMI adapter to connect it to my computer, but I'm unsure if that setup will actually work. Does anyone have any advice or insight on this?

Make sure you're going HDMI to something else like composite or component, rather than the other way around. Just a tip!

What do you mean by 'HDMI to something else'? Can you elaborate?

If your TV only has a coaxial input, you'll need an RF modulator that accepts HDMI as input. Just a heads up, the picture quality might not be great, so temper your expectations!
