I currently have 32GB of DDR5 6000 CL30 RAM installed in my machine. As I do a lot of video editing, I recently purchased an additional 64GB of the same type of RAM and I'm considering using both the 32GB and the 64GB together for a total of 96GB. My motherboard supports up to 256GB of RAM, and since both kits match in speed, I wanted to know if there are any potential issues with mixing these two RAM sizes and running all four sticks at once. Would it be safe and stable, or should I just stick to the larger kit?

Hey, you can definitely try it, but there's a strong chance your system won't boot or will run into issues. DDR5 gets finicky with mixed sizes, especially if they aren't from the same kit. Proceed with caution!
Mixing RAM kits can be dicey, especially on AMD setups. You might get some instability or have to reduce the speed if you run all four sticks together. If you're set on maximizing RAM for video editing, I'd recommend sticking with just the 64GB kit and selling the 32GB one. Less hassle that way!
Totally agree! Running mismatched kits can complicate things, especially with four sticks. Better to keep it simple.
Exactly! You might end up with speed issues if you try to run them all together.
Honestly, I think running four sticks is a bad idea here. DDR5 on AMD platforms can get tricky, especially with mixed kits. If you're going for stability, just use the 64GB alone and sell the 32GB. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches!
If you want to try mixing the two, there's a good chance it won't run at max speed. Test them together, see if it boots, and run MemTest86 to check. Just know that performance might take a hit. But hey, more RAM can be better for your workload even if it's slower!
This is so true! People always stress about speed, but RAM size is crucial too.
Right! Sometimes more RAM is worth it, even if it's not as fast as advertised.
Exactly, it's worth a shot, but don't be surprised if you face problems down the line.
