Can I Mix PSU Cables from Different EVGA Models?

A friend of mine gave me his old EVGA 650w G5 power supply after upgrading to a 850w GT model. I've noticed I have more cables than what's shown in Amazon listings and unboxing videos, so I'm a bit concerned. Is it safe to mix and match the CPU, VGA, and SATA cables from these two different EVGA power supplies? I know it's not recommended to mix PSU cables, but I've heard that EVGA allows some mixing. I've also seen a compatibility chart but I'm not sure how to interpret it correctly. Any advice?

You should definitely check EVGA's own FAQ for compatibility. It looks like the GS and PS models are the only ones not compatible, but I’d recommend double-checking the specific models to be sure!

Yeah, I found that chart too, but it's a bit tricky to read, don't you think?

Mixing cables isn't usually advised, but if they fit, you're likely in the clear since they're from the same brand. Just keep an eye on any differences. Better safe than sorry!

Actually, the G5 uses FSP while the GT is made by Super Flower, so it's not the same manufacturer.
