My friend is trying to figure out if it's okay to mix two types of RAM sticks in his setup. He has 3 DDR5 RAM sticks: two 8GB Crucial sticks with CL46 at 5600MHz and one 16GB Kingston Fury Beast stick with CL40 at 5600MHz. He's wondering if he can combine one of the 8GB Crucial sticks with the Kingston stick to achieve a total of 24GB of RAM. Is that a good idea?

I've read that mixing RAM can be hit or miss, especially with DDR5. There's a chance the system will work fine with the 8GB and 16GB combo, but don’t count on it being totally reliable. Always better to test it out cautiously!
It's worth giving it a shot! Typically, they will just run at the lowest speed required for DDR5, so it shouldn't cause any damage. Just be sure to keep backups while you test things out!
Yeah, I'll make sure he doesn't work on anything super important while testing. Thanks!
