I just picked up a Corsair RM850e 850W power supply for my RTX 3080, and I'm wondering if it's okay to use a single PCIe 6+2 cable along with a pigtail that branches into two 6+2 connectors, but only plug in one of them for the GPU. Is that sufficient to power the graphics card?

With that PSU, you should ideally use both cables, but technically, you can get away with just one since Corsair designs their cables to handle it. Just keep in mind that it’s generally better to use two separate cables to avoid any issues.

Just a heads up, the PSU came with one 8-pin PCIe (6+2) and then there's also a 2x6 to 2x8 PCIe cable setup. So, it’s totally feasible to use just one.
