I'm wondering if there's a way to receive emails that come into a distribution list (DL) within a Microsoft Teams channel. I have both a DL and a Teams channel that I want to connect so that I can get those incoming emails in the channel.

You could set this up using Teams Workflows. It might be a good solution for you!

You could try asking the owner of the DL to add your Teams email to the list. But there might be some limitations.

Unfortunately, the Teams email can't be added in the 'members of' section in Active Directory, so it’s a no-go.

Power Automate is a good option for this. Just make sure to enable HTTP calls in your tenant or workspace. The flow can collect emails and forward them to your channel.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. I have a shared mailbox that sends emails to Teams using Power Automate, and it works great!

To do this, just click on your Teams channel and select 'get email address'. Then, add that email as a member of your distribution list. It should work!

I tried that, but it wouldn't let me add the Teams email to the DL in Active Directory.
