Can I Recover Data from a Failed M.2 SSD?

I'm stuck in an automatic repair loop with my PC, and I think my M.2 SSD is the culprit. Before I resort to reinstalling Windows, I want to see if there's a way to salvage my data. The SSD hasn't worked for almost five months now, so I'm not sure if that affects my chances. Any tips on how I could recover the data?

Yes, you can still recover your data! Try removing your M.2 SSD and connecting it to another computer using an external M.2 enclosure or adapter. If the drive isn't completely shot, this should allow you to access and back up your files. Just make sure not to write anything new to the SSD in the meantime!

Would a laptop work too? And if it does, is there any risk of damaging the laptop if the SSD is faulty?
