Can I still log into my Apple ID on an iPad 1 running iOS 5 in 2026?

I'm experimenting with an old iPad 1 and I really want to see if I can log into my Apple ID on it in 2026. I have a 32-bit .ipa file from a previous iPad that's now broken, and I want to reboot it and try to install the app. I've done some research but the information is pretty outdated, so I'm reaching out to see if others have had any success with this.

I feel you! I’m trying to work with older devices too. Just be prepared that since it’s an outdated version, even if you manage to log in, there might be limitations on what you can access or download. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! It's definitely a challenge working with such old tech.

Just a heads up, the term "Apple ID" is actually outdated as of October 2024; it's now referred to as an Apple Account. If you’ve got a Legacy Contact, or if Advanced Data Protection is turned on, you won't be able to log in on such an old device. Plus, with two-factor authentication enabled, you'd need to include the verification code in your password since there won't be a separate entry field for it.
