Can I Still Use My Old Corsair ATX Case?

I'm looking to reuse an old Corsair full tower ATX case from about 15 years ago. I'm curious if it's still viable for a modern build, especially since I need it to have several 3.5" bays. Finding cases with that many has become quite a challenge lately. Also, I'm a bit worried about my old 1000W PSU; will it work with a new motherboard and a powerful graphics card like the 5080?

The case itself is likely fine for fitting a new motherboard. Just a heads up, you might encounter issues with front panel USB connections since newer boards have different setups. And airflow could be a concern if your GPU runs hot—try it out and see how it performs!

Thanks! I’ll give it a shot and see how it holds up.

Definitely don't connect that old PSU! They're notorious for failing, especially with modern hardware. You can still use the case though, but you might need to adapt for things like 2.5" drives. Just keep it simple with the power button, that's all you really need to get started!

Haha, exactly! Just power button is all I need, thanks!

One thing to consider is the mounting holes for 3.5" drives may have changed on newer models. You might have to drill some new holes if you want to secure them properly. Just keep that in mind while planning your build!

Oh no, new screw configuration? I guess I’ll need to check that out.

Yeah, you can definitely reuse the case. Just keep in mind that a lot of people have moved away from HDDs, so having multiple 3.5" bays is rare these days. But if your old case works for you, go for it! Just be cautious with that 15-year-old PSU—it might not hold up well under load.

I hear you! I have a couple of old drives I still rely on, so I totally understand needing those bays.
