I just booted up my PC for the first time in a couple of years and I'm currently installing Windows updates. Is it safe to switch my monitor to my Xbox during the installation process?

Absolutely, your PC will keep installing the updates without a monitor. It runs in the background just fine!

Thanks for the reassurance! I’ve noticed that the update percentage seems to freeze when I switch inputs. For example, it got stuck at 32% for half an hour, and then later at 44% for an hour. Do you think that's just a coincidence?

Changing inputs is fine, but do check your Windows sleep settings. If the PC detects no activity, it might go to sleep, which can pause the updates without you realizing it.

Good point! I set mine to not sleep for 3 hours before starting the install. Thanks!

Yep, you can switch inputs without any problems!
